Zichron Yaakov
The Wine Road at Zichron Yaakov
The wine road is a reconstruction project of Hameyasdim Street, the colony's main street, which boasts a unique design characteristic of the Baron de Rothschild's colonies. The houses' facades were restored and interspersed with characteristic building touches, such as wooden window frames, tiled roofs, stone and wood fences, street lanterns and more.
The typical structure of a peasant's barnyard had been preserved, and each yard along the road has a unique commercial nature. The wine road commences at the cemetery and the Visitors Center and ends at the "Carmel Mizrachi" wineries. Most of Zichron Yaakov's historical sites are found along the road. "Wine Road" has lately become a center of attraction for the many visitors who enjoy the unique atmosphere, coffee shops and paintings scattered along the road, galleries and restaurants. Art exhibitions and street fairs are held every Friday. Festivals are held during Passover and other national holidays.
