The WIZO Academic Center

For over three decades the WIZO - Haifa Academy of Design, named after Neri Bloomfeld, is a magnet for young people requesting professional training for a "world of action" where creativity blends with education and a workshop for educated, dynamic, experienced and skilled designers.

The Academic Center is recognized as an institute for higher education and acredited to grant bachelor degrees in all study areas that are offered: graphic design, visual communication, architecture, photography, fashion design and business management. In addition, a certificate program for studying film and education are offered.

Standing at the head of the Institution is Prof. David Alexander.

Opening the Institution gates as a haven for cultural activity, places it in a unique position, at the crossroads of three worlds: the creative, the educational and the communal.

The Institute is located in the German Colony of Haifa, in a building whose form, materials and halls of learning and workshops, express the uniqueness of an institution of higher learning of design, art and education. The building holds a library, photography studios, computer laboratories, studio rooms and workshops. The entrance hall of the building is used as a gallery for exhibiting a variety of art works of the students and visting artists and acts as a gathering place for cultural and art events for the surrounding German Colony in its entirety.
