The Technion Building

The building was built with the initiative of the "German Jewish Aid Society" in 1912 by the famous Jewish architect Alexander Berwald, who was invited to join the special project in Berlin. The oversight of the work was performed by the engineer, Gedalia Wilboshvitz. This is an impressive building that contains a blending of western, monumental architecture and elements of Eastern art. The outbreak of the First World War caused the delay of building the structure and it was finally completed in 1925. Today, the building houses the "National Museum of Science and Technology". The location of the building is between the streets of 25 Shmariyahu Levin St. and 12 Balfour St. in the Hadar Hacarmel neighborhood.
