The History of the City of Haifa Museum – 'Beit Ha-am' (People's House)

By the end of the 19th century, the German Templars were well established in Haifa and had established the German Colony. The first place that they built was the 'Beit Ha-am' (Community Hall), which served as a place for public meetings and as a school. Gradually, it became the focal point of the community. This building underwent renovation and reconstruction, and today it serves as a museum of the history of the city of Haifa. If you visit our museum, you will be able to view exhibitions relevant to the city of Haifa, which rotate from time to time.

The first of these exhibitions which was presented on October 15, 2000 displayed photos of the city of Haifa from the beginning of the 20th century, as well as contemporary photos of the city taken by artists with connections to the city of Haifa.
