Castra Center

Castra Center - Art, Recreation and Shopping Center

Castra Art, Recreation and Shopping Center is situated inside a ravishing architectonic structure, decorated with syncline paintings and sculptures by artist Eric Brower.

Castra houses two museums, one of which displays antiquities from the old city of Castra, and the other is a puppet theatre relaying the chronological history of the Jewish people. The place exhibits the largest ceramic tiled painting of its kind in the world and, among other things, biblical scenes such as: the Garden of Eden, David and Goliath and many more.

More at Castra: art galleries, an artists' district (Cardo), various kinds of art shops, restaurants (some are kosher), coffee shops, a pub and a variety of activities and functions for children, as well as adults.

Special activities: creative workshops, exercise classes, dancing and viewing artists at work.

How to get there: at the southern entrance to Haifa, take the southern interchange heading to the Carmel. Castra Center is located across from the Congress Center (Mercaz HaCongressim).

Open: Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 - 22:00, Friday 10:00 - 15:00
Saturday night until 22:00.
