Carmel Park

Carmel Park – The Largest National Park in Israel!

Carmel Park is traversed by special paths for bicycle, jeep and mini-tractor trips, which pass through observation points of breathtaking landscapes, natural Mediterranean groves, archeological remnants, holy sites, wild plants and animals.

The Park covers an area of some 84,000 dunams, and is the largest national park in Israel. Haifa's uniqueness comes from our miraculous landscapes. We are a city within nature. Carmel Park offers you recreation sites, picnic spots and spectacular views.

Several streams flow through the Park: Nahal Mearot, Nahal Galim and Nahal Kelah. The latter is a particularly beautiful stream situated on a cliff-side known as "Little Switzerland" due to its resemblance to the Swiss landscape.

The Park offers camping spots, lookout points and designated walking trails. Many types of trees can be found inside the stream's nature reserve, among them the Common Oak and Native Terebinth trees. The cliffs also serve as a habitat for hyraxes and white lilies, which are rare and protected flowers.
